Halloween arrives in Deadlock: candy, masks and a major patch
Festivities through November 2, Sugar Rush cauldrons, a tougher Mid-Boss and hero balance changes.
Valve has released Halloween 2026 + Gameplay Update for Deadlock. The seasonal festivities run through November 2, 2026.
Masks, pumpkins and candy
The Hideout has a spooky new look, heroes are wearing masks, and pumpkins and cauldrons have appeared around the city. Break a cauldron with a heavy melee attack, collect a piece of candy and save it for later. Eating it grants the temporary Sugar Rush buff.
Mid-Boss and Rejuvenator
- Mid-Boss health and health growth per minute increased by 20%. Resistance reductions are only half as effective against it.
- The arena is larger and has more cover. The bounty for killing Mid-Boss has been halved.
- Three separate Rejuvenator crystals now drop around the pit. Each breaks with one heavy melee attack; the total remains three Rejuvenators per kill.
Other highlights
- Paige: base bullet damage fell from 35 to 32, while damage growth per boon rose from 0.52 to 0.61.
- Rat King: bullet and grenade damage were reduced. Rule, Ratannia! cooldown increased from 160 to 180 seconds.
- Mirage: Traveler targeting now enlarges and centers the minimap, and allies can see the intended teleport destination.
